After Your Trip: Checking for Violations as a Foreign Driver

A step-by-step guide to finding and paying your HGS toll violations after driving in Turkey. The whole process takes about five minutes.

1 Go to the panel

Open the web panel in your browser. It works on any device (phone, tablet, or computer), so no download is needed. If you prefer a native app, there's a mobile version that also unlocks a starter query credit on install; see free credits.

2 Create an account

Sign up with your email. We'll send you a magic link to sign in. No Turkish ID, no phone number, no bank account needed. If you verify a phone number after signup, you earn a free starter credit.

3 Add your vehicle

Enter the plate number of the vehicle you drove. The system supports both Turkish and foreign plates, and there's no cap on how many plates you can add.

4 Run a query

Each successful query costs 1 credit. Credits come in packs on the pricing page, and new accounts can unlock a starter credit through free credits. The query looks up your plate across every toll operator, and results appear in the panel once the lookup completes.

5 View your results

If violations are found, each one appears in the panel with:

  • Date and time of the crossing
  • Toll operator (KGM Otoyol, Osmangazi Köprüsü, Avrasya Tüneli, and others)
  • Entry and exit stations
  • Detected vehicle class
  • Base toll fee and total amount due, which includes any penalty already applied
  • Payment due date, colour-coded by urgency

Each row has a Pay button that opens the correct operator's payment page in a new window. If no violations are found, the list is empty and you're clear for now.

6 Pay through official channels

The Pay button on each row opens the toll operator's own payment page. You pay the operator, not us; we're the lookup layer.

Pay within 15 days of the violation date to keep it at the base toll. After 15 days, a 1x penalty is added (2x total). After 45 days, a 4x penalty (5x total), after which the debt moves to collections. See the full penalty breakdown.

Quick tips

  • Check soon after your trip. The 15-day grace window starts from each individual toll crossing, not from when you leave Turkey.
  • Set up a scheduled query. Daily or weekly checks run on your behalf from inside Turkey, even while you're abroad. The KGM lookup portal isn't reachable from outside Turkey, so a late violation that lands after you leave is invisible to a manual check. Pair it with notifications so you hear about each new record the moment it appears.
  • Driving your own foreign-plated vehicle? The trade-off between buying an HGS sticker and handling tolls as pay-after-the-fact violations is covered in Should you buy a sticker, or skip it? on the HGS guide.
